Bard Manufacturing installed an Acoustical Testing Facility in its Bryan Ohio facility, in 2007. Bard has utilized this test room to develop equipment with less sound generated into the classroom, and continues to actively develop acoustical accessories and factory installed sound reduction features for its classroom products. Bard was the only wall mount manufacturer to be approved as meeting LAUSD sound requirements in classrooms, and is currently approved in LAUSD for both external mounted equipment and interior mounted equipment.
Mr. Smith has developed an AIA approved presentation on Acoustics and Classrooms. This presentation will cover basics of acoustics, terms and definitions, design recommendations for acoustically friendly classrooms, and some examples of sounds levels in actual classrooms.
One PDH will be awarded for attendance at this meeting.
