E-Week 2021 Virtual "Luncheon"   2021-Luncheon-Program-web.pdf

Monday, February 22, 2021, 12 noon-1:30pm

National Engineers Week is an annual event to raise public awareness about engineering and the contributions that engineers make to society. It is also a time for engineers to emphasize the importance of learning math, science, and technical skills, particularly to:

  • Celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world
  • Increase public dialogue about the need for engineers
  • Bring engineering to life for kids, educators, and parents

Engineers Week was founded in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). It is among the oldest of America’s professional engineering outreach efforts. While “Engineers Week” suggests only a week-long event, it has in fact become a year-round commitment to making a difference in this area. For example, Manufacturers Day was held in October of last year and the Regional Science Fair will bring the “week” to a close in March of this coming year.

The virtual luncheon this year will be led by Grady Stout, immediate past president of Chattanooga Engineers Club.

Our keynote speaker for the 2021 luncheon will be Robin Kemper. Robin has built a career with an array of diverse and extensive structural engineering experience in design, analysis, and forensics focused on buildings. Her work has included being a project manager of both structural engineering and multi-discipline projects ranging from field investigations to field inspections during construction. She is vastly experienced in new construction, additions to buildings, historic projects, structural condition surveys, analysis and retrofitting of existing buildings, response to failures, forensics, expert testimony, and installation of solar projects.

Mrs. Kemper is currently a professional engineer in NJ, PA, NY, MA, TX, OK and is a member of NCEES. She is also a LEED Accredited Professional and certified as a NJ Special Inspector.
