Chattanooga Engineers Club

Joint Meeting with ASME and IEEE Chattanooga Sections

Monday, May 10th at noon

TVA CADNet

Speaker:

Shane Bales – CADNet STW Supervisor and also one of the original members of the inaugural CADNet class of 1995.

CADNet is a School-to-Work Program that trains students in computer-aided drafting (CAD) while providing low cost, quality services for TVA and other organizations. In addition to expanding educational and career opportunities for students, CADNet is a training ground for tomorrow’s workforce who will need advanced computer skills to compete in a highly competitive job market. Through CADNet, high school juniors are taught the advanced computer skills needed to become proficient at producing engineering drawings in the classroom. High school seniors are eligible to work at one of our offices where they earn wages while completing projects for TVA and other organizations. Students gain hands-on experience while working with industry professionals throughout each project. Students also learn the importance of time management in order to meet deadlines and how to meet or exceed expectations when other people are depending on them. Students truly become an integral part of our team and gain many skills that help them in school and in life.
