Fall 2021 Invention Challenge Theme
The COVID-19 pandemic has turned the home into a hub of life for work, play, exercise, relaxation, and more. Because of this shift, our challenge sponsors at Shaw Industries are inviting student participants to explore the Future of the Home and reimagine how homes will actively support how we live, entertain, learn and thrive in the next five years.
For this challenge, we’re asking the question “How Might We enable the homes of the future to be smarter and more sustainable to meet the ever-changing needs of families.” Students are encouraged to explore the Future of Home, identify a "real need", and design an inventive solution.
