Water Treatment for HVAC Systems, speaker Dan Weimar

Wed Jan 5 at 11:30a

In many ways, water is the ultimate sustainable resource. The hydrologic cycle always returns water to nature for reuse. However, with the increasing population and resulting stress placed on our water reserves, the quantity and quality of water is declining. Why is water so important to water cooled chillers? Gaining knowledge and proper planning are essential to successfully use of water when dealing with heat transfer surfaces. (Chiller condensers, evaporators, cooling towers, plate & frame heat exchangers and device that transfers heat)

Dan is a Senior Corporate Engineer for Chem-Aqua, a global water treatment company headquartered in Irving, Texas.  Dan started in the water treatment industry in 1981. He is a past voting member of ASHRAE’s Technical Committees, TC 3.6 for Water Treatment and TC 8.6 for Cooling Towers/Evaporative Cooling as well as a past Chair of the TC 3.6 Handbook Committee for Water Treatment. He has published numerous technical articles involving the role of Water Treatment in energy and water conservation. Over the course of his career, his primarily focus has been steam plant operations, water cooled processes and HVAC cooling systems with a heavy emphasis in the last 25 years on water and energy conservation.

Professional Development Certificates (1 hour) will be provided after the webinar.
