Joint program with Chattanooga Regional Manufacturing Association (CRMA), ASME Chattanooga, ASQ Chattanooga, and Million Women Mentors - TN

Chambers Welding & Fabrication

Tour host: Chanda Chambers, Owner & President

The American Welding Society (AWS) marks April as the National Welding Month to recognize the industry and its workers that have kept the country moving forward.

Throughout this month, AWS raises awareness about the shortage of trade skills in the welding industry and its career paths and celebrates the work of the welders who have delivered non-stop quality and built the world we live in, for centuries.

Chattanooga Engineers Club will showcase a local welding provider, Chambers Welding & Fabrication. Chanda and Brent Chambers are the dynamic entrepreneurs that started the small business in 2015 with a few welders. The business has grown. Chanda is very active in promoting welding as a career path for women, she has been in many magazine and newspaper articles. She will talk about her business, projects, and classes being offered.

Added feature of the tour, a short talk about Chattanooga State's Non-Destructive Testing certificate programs leading to associate degrees.

Guest Speaker: Tracie Clifford, Faculty Lead / Instructor, QA/QC and NDT programs.

With April following March, we do want to mention March was Women History Month. This is our belated celebration with two STEM women, Chanda Chambers, a woman entrepreneur, and Tracie Clifford, faculty member and mentor.

Tour instruction will be provided before tour date.

The event should qualify for 1 PDH.
