In lieu of another August meeting, CEC will join AWS Chattanooga to supporting a hybrid meeting with the Nashville AWS Section.

Weldability of Dissimilar Metals

Guest Presenter:  Daryush K. Aidun, Ph.D., Clarkson University

Join us for an educational night at World Testing (70 East Hill Street. Mt. Juliet, TN 37122) with a hybrid "Weldability of Dissimilar Metals" technical discussion. The presenter will be Daryush (Dary) K. Aidun, Ph.D., Clarkson University. Daryush, an AWS (2021) and ASME Fellow, has been a staff member of the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) Dept. at Clarkson University (Potsdam NY) since 1982, an MAE Professor since 2000, and served as MAE Department Chair from 2005 to 2015.

Daryush’s educational accomplishments include:

·        Ph.D. Materials Engineering, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

·        M.S. Materials Science, Syracuse University, 1978.

·        M.S. Industrial Engineering Syracuse University, 1976.

·        B.S. Industrial Engineering, Syracuse University, 1975.

Daryush received his American Welding Society Life Member Certificate in 2019 and has won the various AWS awards. Daryush's works have been recognized by the AWS in the form of AWS awards including the MacKay-Helm Award, Adams Memorial Membership Award, William Spraragen Award, along with multiple A.F. Davis Silver and Charles H. Jennings Awards.
