2023 Chattanooga Engineers Week
Kick-off Luncheon
Engineers Week was founded in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). It is among the oldest of America’s professional engineering outreach efforts. In concert with more than 70 engineering, education, and cultural societies, and more than 50 corporations and government agencies, the Chattanooga Area of Tennessee officially opens Engineers Week with a Kick-off Luncheon.
This year's theme is "Creating the Future".

Matt Rasmussen, Senior Vice President of Engineering & Operation Support, TVA
Mr. Rasmussen has over 20 years of experience with TVA and started as maintenance engineer at Browns Ferry Nuclear plant. Mr. Rasmussen later became Senior Reactor Operator, and moved into positions of superintendent, director , and plant manager of Sequoyah Nuclear plant, Site Vice President at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, and then Site Vice President at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, before his recent promotion.
This year's luncheon chairperson is Gabe Kurtz
