This month’s chapter program will give us the opportunity to learn about various design components for heat pump systems. We will specifically focus on:

- Refrigeration Components and Cycle

- Air Source Heat Pumps

- Water Source Heat Pumps

- Piping

- Sizing

Dan earned a Bachelor of Science from Middle TN State University with studies focused on Mechanical Engineering Technology 9 years after obtaining his Associate of Applied Science degree with a major in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration. His career began on the residential application side of the HVAC industry, and he steadily moved into more complex systems including commercial buildings with electronic controls and multiple zones. Dan gained over 10 years of field experience with installation and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment before taking a “desk job” to answer technical service calls and provide phone support to outside contractors for Lochinvar’s commercial products. Dan is now the Senior Product Manager for emerging technologies which includes responsibilities for heat pump water heaters.
