Speaker:
Anthony Minutolo
Associate Professor of Engineering
Coordinator of Engineering Programs, Lee University
Lee University announced a new 4-year degree in Engineering Science that will prepare students broadly as a future practicing engineer. The curriculum includes all ABET accreditation standards of coursework in Mathematics, Science, and Computer science.
The engineering coursework covers topics from the disciplines of Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Electrical Engineering with 9 hours of technical electives allowing a student to explore interests in other technical areas. These technical areas can include Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or Environmental Science. The goal is to produce well-rounded Engineering students that are prepared broadly for industry at large or graduate studies in specialized fields of engineering.
Lee University also maintains a 3+2 Dual degree partnership with the University of Tennessee Chattanooga and Tennessee Technology University. Students that are looking for a specialized degree in Engineering do not have to forgo the Lee Experience. The partnerships afford students three years at Lee University with foundation in Engineering. After the completion, students will transfer to one of our partnering institutions to complete the discipline specific engineering degree while still obtaining Lee University's Engineering Science degree.
