ASHRAE- Feb mtg- Fire Pumps

The local ASHRAE chapter is testing new venues--this month again at Rodizio Grill at Hamilton Place.  They're also testing a new RSVP form which seems to be limited to members only-- please email requests to attend to info@ChattanoogaEngineersClub.org by EOB Tues Feb 4.

TOPIC: Fire Pumps

This presentation will include the system components of a fire pump and the history of NFPA. The topics will include fire pump types, drivers and pump room equipment with a review of controllers and starting methods.

SPEAKER:  Todd Weir

Todd is Americas Product Manager for AC Fire Pump, a Xylem brand. Todd received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Energy Engineering from the University of North Texas. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and an NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist. He is an alternate on the NFPA 20 technical committee. Part of Todd’s responsibility includes training representatives, contractors and engineers on the NFPA 20 standard and AC Fire products at Xylem’s Little Red School House in Morton Grove, Illinois and around the country.
