Battery Energy Storage, Opportunities Across the Tennessee Valley

Lance Irwin, Vice President of Partnerships & Project Development at Seven States Power Corporation, will present on the benefits of battery backup storage for enhancing grid reliability and resiliency.

Lance will highlight how distributed energy storage systems can support outage mitigation, demand response, and operational flexibility for modern power systems for both commercial and residential use cases.

About Seven States:

Seven States Power Corporation is a non-profit generation and transmission cooperative. It was formed in 2007 by 150+ local power companies and the TVA to finance power assets, expand energy production and modernize infrastructure. 

Seven States delivers solutions at both utility-scale and distribution-scale that make energy supply more reliable and abundant. 

Project portfolio includes natural gas generation, battery storage, solar, combined heat and power, EV chargers, data analytics and load management. 

More about the Speaker:

Lance Irwin graduated from University of Tennessee Knoxville with a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  He also holds a MA in Christian Studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Lance held various engineering and management roles with EPB, management roles with Schneider Electric.  He was in IT and communication leadership role at Foothills Church before joining Seven States in 2022.
